Interested in Volunteering on the GFOAz Scholarship Committee?

GFOAz has created a new student internship program that will launch this fall. The internship will provide a student the opportunity to have a three-month work experience at an eligible city, town or county. GFOAz will provide the stipend for the internship. Details on the internship and how to get involved will be sent to active GFOAz members. The newly-formed committee is looking for one or two volunteers to assist in student interviews this winter. If you are interested, please e-mail by October 9.

Review of the Advanced Government Finance Institute - Madison, Wisconsin

By: Kirsten Lennon, Accounting/Budget Manager, City of Cottonwood

The training and the connections with other finance officers was a wonderful experience. The AGFI 2015 class has decided to stay connected by creating LinkedIn and Facebook groups. The training was both entertaining and enlightening and I know I will use the skills and communication strategies that I learned from the wonderful instructors. Read more

This will be particularly important as the GASB reviews the standards related to the financial reporting model, including Statement 34. Read more
