GFOAz January 2016 Training

Be sure to attend the next quarterly training on January 21, 2016 at the Fountain Hills Community Center. This day-long training will be in partnership with the Arizona Municipal Clerks' Association (AMCA) and touch on topics like Affordable Care Act, bond elections, contract record keeping, procurement and public records law.

An Update from the GFOAz Education Committee

Thank you to everyone who attended the GFOAz Annual Budget Forum on October 22 at Zions Bank in Phoenix, AZ. We appreciate the suggestions provided by those who completed the online survey that provides the committee with feedback and ideas for upcoming trainings.

Interested in Serving on the GFOAz Board of Directors?

A nine-member Board of Directors provides leadership and oversight of the Government Finance Officers Association of Arizona. The board includes the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Chairperson of the Education Committee, Chairperson of the Membership Committee and four at-large directors.

In 2016, there will be three at-large director seats open. Any active member in good standing is eligible for election to membership on the board. An active member is defined as any public employee or elected or appointed official having responsibility for, or engaged in, the function of governmental finance in any public jurisdiction of the state of Arizona. GFOAz Scholarships Available

In 2016, GFOAz will be offering two scholarships to the GFOAz Winter Conference, February 17-19, 2016, in Prescott. The association will also offer one scholarship to the annual GFOA (national) conference, May 22-25, 2016 in Toronto, Canada.

GFOAz Student/Internship Program - Host Information

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOAz) has launched the first student scholarship/internship program! The scholarship is available to junior/senior level students pursuing a major in business, accounting, finance, economics, public administration, and/or other related program. Read more

Registration is open for GFOA's 110th Annual Conference

Go to GFOA's website and click on the "Annual Conference" tab to access a conference brochure and registration form, register for preconference seminars, reserve a room in GFOA's official hotel block, and sign up for tours. Session information will be announced in early 2016. Remember: All delegates traveling to Toronto from the United States will need a passport. Apply or renew yours today.
