Written contracts or agreements are often required. Indemnification and additional insured provisions need to be defined. Do you fully understand the actual COI and the actual endorsement? Do you have some troublesome COI's endorsements or contracts that you would like to bring along to review? This session is an interactive opportunity to learn about special events, discuss specific issues and find out how other members deal with these issues.

Last year's legislative session created an entirely new system for the collection, audit and distribution of local sales tax. Cities and towns are in the midst of an effort to have the Arizona Department of Revenue be the central point for businesses to pay their local and state TPT. This session will cover the changes to the TPT system created by HB2111, as well as other sales tax changes that are on the horizon.

With the passage of the Dodd-Frank regulations, the municipal bond market has not escaped the proliferation of new rules and regulations. This session will focus on recent SEC and MSRB regulatory changes that impact governmental issuers of bonds and other financial obligations. In particular we will focus on the recent SEC release related to municipal advisors, disclosure obligations of municipal issuers, as well as the particular filing requirements of such disclosure. We will also review recent SEC enforcement actions. The SEC is targeting governmental issuer, of securities like never before. This session will provide an explanation and discuss what went wrong for those governmental entities and what your agency can do to avoid an SEC investigation.
