Opportunities for members include events and training, access to online member account on GFOAz website, and scholarships and awards.
Events and Trainings
GFOAz holds annual conferences bringing together members and other public finance specialists to improve technical and managerial skills, exchange information with peers in a relaxed setting, and explore current government finance issues. Annual Conferences offer between 13-15 CPE credits.
GFOAz hosts quarterly training on a variety of topics that are of interest to members, and also partners with other organizations to offer additional professional development opportunities to members throughout the year. Quarterly trainings provide up to 5 CPE credits.

Membership Directory
GFOAz publishes an annual online directory. Membership in GFOAz provides the opportunity to exchange informationand ideas with other government finance professionals from around the state of Arizona and with members in the finance and banking industry.
Discussion Board
If you are interested in being a resource for your colleagues by sharing your knowledge, you will just need to sign into the GFOAz website as a member to open the discussion board. The discussion board allows members to pose questions to other members on specific topics or provide advice. Please make sure to sign in and check this on a regular basis.

GFOAz State Scholarships
Four scholarships of $500 reimbursement for the winter and summer conference.

GFOA Annual Conference Scholarship
One scholarship up to $2,000 to be used toward reimbursement for: registration, lodging and travel for the GFOA annual conference every year.

GFOA Leadership Academy at the College of Charleston
GFOAz awards two $2,100 scholarships for the GFOA Leadership Academy program at the College of Charleston every other year. This program is open to: Finance Directors, Assistant Finance Directors, Treasurers, Department Managers, City Managers, and Assistant City Managers.

GFOAz Student Internship and Scholarship and Hosting Program
This program awards two scholarships and paid internships to incoming junior or senior students enrolled at Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, or the University of Arizona with a local city, town, or county, where they will contribute towards a broad range of activities within the finance department.

GFOAz members are welcome to submit a host application from their local government to receive one of the two scholars as an intern during the summer. GFOAz provides a $6,000 grant to the participating local government entity to be used towards the salary of the student interns. Host eligibility requirements apply.
Host applications open in September and close December.
GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer Enrollment Scholarship
GFOAz assist GFOA annually in awarding two scholarships to cover $600.00 enrollment fee for one year of enrollment in GFOA’s CPFO program.
